Study Note 1 — The Complete Private Pilot

Here is what I learnt while I studying the book “The Complete Private Pilot”. Most note text are in English, and may not translate to Chinese any more.

It is a great book that everyone who is or want to become a private pilot should read it.

In this section, I learnt a lot of aerodynamics knowledge – really far behind I imagination. However, it makes me thinking more beyond taking off, and let me understand that aerodynamics is the key to safety flight.

In the book “The Complete Private Pilot” it only cover the basis subtitles of aerodynamics, include aircraft structures, basic theory of lift and airplane flying, and four fundamental force of flight, basic maneuvers, stall & spin and several things related to fly safety. However, it is not covered a lot of basic knowledge that other books has, such how the forces exert on a airplane when it climbing, descending and steep turn. And some of the topics are not discussed sufficient. So during learning this chapter, I do read some other books, such us FAA’s “Pilot’s handbook of aeronautical knowledge”, Jeppesen’s Private Pilot Testbook and Rod Machado’s “Private Pilot Handbook”.

After the study of this chapter, I realized that sufficient understanding for aeronautical is the grantee for safety flight.
